Kingdom appoints Hendrik Hanselaar as new Honorary Consul in San Diego
The Kingdom of the Netherlands has appointed Hendrik A. Hanselaar (70) as Honorary Consul in San Diego, California. Hanselaar, CEO of Hanselaar & Associates in Rancho Santa Fe, will take up this task starting November 21.
The new Honorary Consul will help strengthen economic ties between the United States and the Netherlands and support the growing business community in San Diego. He will also assist Dutch citizens in need.
Mr. Hanselaar is a seasoned business leader and an expert in telecom and information systems.
“We are happy to welcome Mr. Hanselaar to our diplomatic team working to strengthen the ties between our two nations,” said Netherlands Ambassador to the United States Henne Schuwer. “With his knowledge and experience, he will provide great support to Dutch companies that are doing business in San Diego or want to enter the Southern California market.”
The Dutch Consul General in San Francisco, Gerbert Kunst, hosted an event Nov. 21 to introduce Mr. Hanselaar to the Dutch community. He will accompany him on his first official visits to the city, state and business officials.
